The Friends of Port Moorowie was incorporated in September 1994 after a meeting held by a number of landowners in February of that year. As an environmental group, we are constantly looking at projects that will enable us to retain the natural environmental of Port Moorowie but also provide some added comforts for landowners, residents and visitors.
The major objects and purposes of the association are to:
- Promote an active interest in the welfare of the district and town of Port Moorowie
- Nurture and enhance the natural environment of Port Moorowie and encourage the protection of the sand-dune areas of Port Moorowie on both public and private land
- Care for the marine environment in the area of Port Moorowie

The Friends of Port Moorowie publish a newsletter called the Port Moorowie Whaler and can be found here.
